During the 1st cycle studies in Geology you will gain broad knowledge in the field of Earth sciences. The duration of studies is 6 semesters, ending with the BSc degree. You can continue your education at four-semester Master’s degree studies. The studies will enable you to take up work in job positions that require general knowledge and geological skills in the economic sector and geological administration. After completing the 2nd and 3rd cycle studies you can also develop your scientific career. You will know how to... name, distinguish and explain geological processes, identify and describe geological structures (including young glacial structures), perform geological measurements, as well as create geological, hydrogeological, deposit and other maps, identify minerals and rocks in macro scale and under microscope, define their features and suitability for use in industry, determine the age of geological formations and events based on fossils, dusts and knowledge of the geological history of the Earth, trace chemical transformations in the environment, circulation of chemical elements and matter, determine the impact of pollution on the chemical composition and functioning of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere and biosphere, work with state-of-the-art equipment, software for interpretation and databases used in geology, take decisions related to the management of water resources, minerals and energy, including energy from renewable sources, work in international research teams thanks to knowledge of foreign language and social competencies.
