Admission Requirements Students may apply to this cycle of studies if they apply through the institutional admission exam and pass the following entrance examinations: 02 Biology and Geology Candidates may also apply through the regime of change of institution/course pair or through a Special Competition, according to the legal norms in force (holders of a Higher Education Course, holders of a Technological Specialization Course, holders of a Higher Technical Professional Course, or 23 years old or more). Applicants who meet the conditions set out in the International Student Statute may also enter. Objectives The pharmaceutical profession is fundamentally directed towards a clinical and care context, supported by a strong scientific component. Focusing on the patient and on therapeutic development and innovation, Lusófona's programme follows the main guidelines produced on the subject (http://www.who.int/medicines/; doi.org/10.3390/pharmacy9010059). The main competences pointed out are widely developed in our programme. Recipients The Pharmaceutical Sciences (IM) course at Lusófona is aimed at candidates with a special interest in the biosciences where the interactions between human biology, chemistry and technology provide a unique insight into the mechanisms of disease, their understanding and therapeutic approach. Further Studies Specialisation and post-graduate programmes, including 3rd cycle programmes referring to doctoral studies. Career Prospects Graduates in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Universidade Lusófona are qualified to work in several areas, from Community Pharmacy to Hospital Pharmacy, galenic and chemical development in the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industry, management and commercial promotion of pharmaceutical and chemical products, and Clinical and Chemical-Biological Analysis, creating also and simultaneously, preferential conditions for the deepening of knowledge at a professional or academic post-graduation level.
