English Language programme at VNU-IS brings students general knowledge of English-speaking countries' culture, semantics, literature, cross cultural communication, country studies (regarding people, culture, economics, society, politics and education), presentation skills, critical thinking skills, teamwork skills, interdisciplinary research skills, debate skills and other related knowledge and skills. Students can acquire the ability of analyzing and evaluating the issues related to translation and interpretation in field and the foreign policy and international affairs. Upon course completion, in terms of language competence, students are expected to achieve level 5/6 for English and level 3 for the second foreign language (Six-level Vietnam’s Framework of Reference For Language). The programme is focused on 02 in-depth specilazation in Business and Informatics with 04 career orientations comprising Translation and Interpreting, English Language Teacher Education, Foreign Affairs and Research in Applied Linguistics. The graduate has the skill to work as Englsih teacher, language researcher or translator, interpreter, secretary, assistant for all departments such as foreign affairs, organizational strategy, human resource management, financial management, supply chain management, system information management, business data analysis, artificial intelligence in business and technology multinational national corporates, the Embassy, GO or NGO.
