About the university
The Superior Institute of Religious Sciences of Barcelona (ISCREB) is a teaching institution of public character of the Archbishopric of Barcelona, linked to the Faculty of Theology of Catalonia of the Ateneo Universitario Sant Pacià . It was born from the transformation of the previous Institute of Theology of Barcelona, in accordance with the regulations of the Congregation for Catholic Education of 1987 and the regulations of the Spanish Episcopal Commission of April 18, 1996. It was created on November 18, 1996 and Its statutes were approved on April 7, 1997. It was refounded on May 31, 2010 in accordance with the new Instruction on the Superior Institutes of Religious Sciences of the Congregation of June 28, 2008.
