About the university
In 1995, the Union of Advocates of Ukraine adopted a decision establishing the highest legal institution. This idea is supported by the rector of the Kiev National University, Academician V.V. Skopenko, the practical implementation of the new Concept of training legal personnel took the International Law Company «BIM» and Ukrainian corporation lawyer who became co-founders of the institution. October 12, 1995 was registered LLC "Institute of Advocacy at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv." License for educational activity on the specialty "jurisprudence" Institute received June 13, 1996. At that time, the number of students was 150. That same year was created the first three departments: Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Department of advocacy skills, department of language training and cultural studies.
