Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies

In September 2002, the latest history began - the President of Ukraine L.D. Kuchma signed a decree on conferring national status, which he obliged to a great deal. In addition, in the higher education system, the transformations connected with the accession of our country to the Bologna process, with the increasing demands of employers for graduates of higher educational establishments, with the increase in volume and the change in the structure of knowledge with the wide introduction of science-intensive innovative technologies for food production began to grow rapidly. All these problems had to be solved against the backdrop of the worsened economic situation and the conditions of activity of state higher educational institutions. In the spring of 2003, the staff of the Academy successfully passed the accreditation of all 14 specialties and the university as a whole. An accreditation certificate was received from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on the 4th, the highest level of accreditation. The spring of 2003 was also remembered by the rector's election conducted in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education" on all the canons of the principles of democracy. The delegates of the conference of the labor collective of our academy unanimously entrusted me with the right to lead the leadership of the university. Together with a sense of gratitude, I gained a feeling of deep responsibility for the fate of our academy, for the fate of every student, teacher and employee. The summer of 2003 began. The possibility of further functioning of the academy increasingly began to depend on the results of financial activities, the structure of the academy did not fully meet the requirements of the educational services market, the cost of utility services increased sharply, the Academy staff faced a number of other economic problems. However, taking as an example the perseverance, purposefulness and efficiency of our predecessors, the Academy's rectorate has developed, and the Academic Council has approved a new concept of long-term development.
