About the university
Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAM) is one of the most interesting areas of higher education in Ukraine, namely - training and education of creative individuals in the areas of fine and decorative art, design, restoration, culture, art and art management. The idea of creating art in Lviv Academy originated over a century ago, but because modern educational institution is the successor of the best traditions and achievements of art education, launched in Ukraine in the mid 19th century. The history of it is from the Art and Industrial School (1876) Free Academy of Arts (1905), art school Oleksa Nowakowski (1923) and other institutions in the system which aprobuvalasya academic education. These art institutions studied and later taught by prominent artists, students of leading European academies Ivan Trush, Osip Kurylas Anton Manastyrskyi Elena Kulchytska, Gregory Smolsky Svyatoslav Hordynsky and many others.
