About the university
The Izmail Institute of Water Transport started its educational activity in 1997 in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The choice of Izmail - a relatively small city in Ukraine - for opening a higher educational institution was not accidental, but quite natural. After all, in the south of Ukraine there are the Ukrainian Danube and Black Sea Shipping Company, Izmail, Odessa, Ilyichevsk seaports, shipyards, which are in great need of specialists possessing modern advanced production technologies. In the institute there are about 1,500 students at 4 departments. Every year more than 350 young people from all districts choose water transport institute, where they can get high quality education.
