About the university
The University has a glorious historical past and old traditions. The history of the institution dates back to 17 July 1928, since when the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR adopted a resolution on the establishment of Kharkiv Standing biennial nationwide fire-technical courses. In the process of formation and development of the name of the institution changed several times. In 1930, nationwide fire safety courses were reorganized into Kharkov Fire College NKVD of the USSR. In 1938, due to the need for training and retraining of specialists for a significant number of local fire departments, the Kharkov NKVD Fire College was reorganized into courses of improvement commanders City Fire Department (stump) NKVD. In July 1941, reorganized courses in the third, and in 1943 - the fourth fire-technical school NKVD.
