About the university
Our history dates back 12 June 1930, when according to the decision of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR number 19/672 was created operational and traction Kharkov State University of Transportation. The new Institute started classes 432 students. In 1930 began his own work and graduate school. In 1932 The school was renamed the operational and mechanical Kharkov Institute of Railway Engineers, and in autumn 1933 - in Kharkiv Institute of Railway Engineers. It was then usual today abbreviation HIIT. In 1993 HIIT has been accredited by the State Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine IV level accreditation with the change of status. The Institute was renamed the Kharkiv State Academy of Railway Transport (HarDAZT). According to the order of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Ukraine number 346 of 28 May 2001 as the university was known Ukrainian State Academy of Railway Transport (UkrDAZT). Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine number 1049 was 30 zhovtrya 2014 in the framework of the implementation of the new Law of Ukraine "On education" institution renamed the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport.
