Course Overview In the UK, farming underpins 70% of the nation’s landscape and provides jobs for almost 4 million people. Here and worldwide, it is a vital component of our economy. With the world’s population growing, there is an urgency to make more of the world’s farmable land with innovation and sustainability at the top of the agenda. With over a century of experience, the RAU is ideally placed to respond to this challenge – study applied farm management with us, and you could be part of a world-changing solution. You’ll learn about agriculture, food production and business management while also getting the chance to complete a 20-week work placement to advance your vocational and academic skills. It’s no wonder that our graduates are in high demand. Work placement This is your chance to find work that matches your interests and aspirations, with a 20-week work placement during your second year based in the UK or internationally. You have the added option of completing a full year in employment between your second and third year and can link your placement to your choice of final year electives or your dissertation topic. Entry requirements Typical offers A Level: BCC – min.104 UCAS Tariff points (to include at least three A Level passes – Preferably one science or technology subject. For Science subject: Pass in practical element is not required. General Studies & Critical Thinking are not included in the academic offer.) BTEC: DMM GCSE: (Minimum five GCSEs) - English and Mathematics (or Maths Numeracy for Welsh applicants) at Grade C / 4 or higher are required. International Baccalaureate: 26 points to include one science or technology subject at higher level. Access to HE: 45 credits at level 3, of which 21 must be awarded at Distinction and 15 at Merit or higher. (Pass at Literacy & Numeracy skills at level 2 are accepted in lieu of GCSE English & Mathematics) A period of practical experience is also highly recommended.
