This is a part-time course, one-day per week for 36-weeks. The course is designed for teaching assistants, or a similar role already in work or with a substantial voluntary placement. It is suitable for primary and secondary schools, and colleges (age range 5yrs+). If successful you will be awarded the Level 4 Certificate for the Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges. Entry Requirements: GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths (Grades *A-C or minimum Grade 4) School or college placement (paid or voluntary - one-day per week) - duration of the course. DBS - you will be responsible for this. Relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an Early Years qualification). Completion of an initial/diagnostic assessment Assessment Method You will build a portfolio of evidence that will include written assignments, presentations, projects, and direct observations within the workplace. This will also include your placement hours. There is no final examination. Aims of the course: To provide professional development opportunities to equip you as an advanced practitioner in a school or college setting . Developing skills in leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection. Progression Opportunities: Can lead to paid employment and/or additional responsibilities within the workplace. Facilities: The model of delivery: mainly online with termly classroom-based time. You will have access to our digital learning platform that will provide you with a range of materials and resources to support your learning whilst on this course. Individual tutorial support is available. Additional learning support is also available, if required.
