The MSc Cyber Security and Data Governance course focuses on a combination of technology, business, and policy. It is ideal for students who have an interest in developing an in-depth specialist knowledge and a critical understanding of the key aspects of cybersecurity and data governance. This course will equip students with the skills to manage and analyze an organization's data assets and security measures, and provide an understanding of data governance principles, practices, and technologies. The University of Law Business School is an institutional member of Amazon Web Services Educate. This provides tutors and students of the MSc Cyber Security and Data Governance with access to the best collaboration tools, content training, and AWS technology for cloud-related learning. Upon graduation, you will be fully equipped with the practical skills needed for a technology career. Students also have access to the AWS Educate Job Board for seeking technology jobs and internships. You can expand your study experience by rotating across our campus locations in London and Berlin. During your time at ULaw Business School, you can complete modules at alternative campus locations, returning to your ‘home’ campus to complete your final module. Visa restrictions and study conditions may apply, however you are supported throughout the rotation process. Contact us (link to study@law.ac.uk email) for more information about the Global Rotation option. From the 4th Term (9 months of study), students may choose, subject to any applicable visa requirements, to undertake a work placement instead of a dissertation or project. The work placement is for 9 months. Students must complete 600 hours of work. Vinayak Ram, who teaches on the course is a Director at Protiviti and heads the cybersecurity practice for Protiviti in the UK. Vinayak is a subject mater expert in cybersecurity and has extensive hands-on knowledge across the various domains in cybersecurity including penetration testing, security architecture, and compliance frameworks. Vinayak has a global exposure to cybersecurity having worked in the US, UK, Middle East, and South Asian geographies. Vinayak has a Master’s in Networked Systems from the University of California, Irvine, and a B.E in Telecommunications from the University of Mumbai, India. Vinayak also holds the CISA, CISM, PCI QSA and the CCSK certifications and is a regular speaker at several industry conferences.
