About the university
Canisius College /kəˈniːʃəs/ was founded in 1870 by members of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) from Germany and is named after St. Peter Canisius. It is a private college in the Hamlin Park neighborhood of Buffalo, New York, United States. One of 27 Jesuit institutions in the nation, Canisius offers 100+ undergraduate majors,minors and specialty programs and around 35 master’s and certificate programs. The college sponsors 20 NCAA Division 1 Athletic teams and is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

In general the following is required: -Free application -Official transcripts in English sent directly from your school or university -English Proficiency Scores from one of the following: SAT, ACT, TOEFL, IELTS. -Personal Statement/Essay -2-3 Letters of Recommendation (optional)
Student visa
The Visa process can average 6-8 weeks if not longer. You will need a student Visa before you can begin studying at Canisius. If you are accepted, you will need to submit a copy of your passport photo page and a Certificate of Finance showing you can cover the costs of attending for 1 year. The estimated cost of attendance for 1 year is $45,000 USD. Once your passport photo page and Certificate of Finance have been received and processed, we will then issue your I-20.
Accommodation
We offer on campus housing to students, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. For our undergraduate students we offer traditional double rooms and suite style accommodations. For graduate students we offer townhouse and apartment style living accommodations.
Scholarships
There are limited scholarships available to international students. For undergraduate students, every student will be considered for a merit based scholarship based on their GPA on a US scale. For graduate students, Canisius recommends reaching out to the graduate office for more information on scholarships for international graduate students.
