About the university
Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) is a dually accredited private college located in Laguna Beach, California, United States. With an enrollment of approximately 550 students, the College offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in seven majors: Animation, Experimental Animation, Drawing and Painting, Game Art, Graphic Design + Digital Media, Illustration and Entertainment Design. Minors are offered in Animation, Art History, Creative Writing, Drawing and Painting, Graphic Design + Digital Media, Illustration, and Sculpture. LCAD also offers four Master of Fine Arts degrees in Art of Game Design, Creative Writing, Drawing and Painting; and a post-baccalaureate certificate program in Drawing and Painting. LCAD has an affiliate arrangement with the Florence Academy of Art for summer study in Florence, Italy for class credit. Similar arrangements for Painting and Drawing majors exist with the Art Students League, and for Game Art majors with the Academy for Digital Entertainment at NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences. In Graphic Design, an association was created in 2011 with the Communication University of China, Beijing. Since 2014, the college has partnered with Vermont College of Fine Arts on a BFA/MAT dual degree program.

Student visa
You will need a completed Declaration of Finances Form and an official bank statement - the bank statement must show a balance equal to or greater than the cost of attendance at the college for one year. Then once you have paid your non refundable $250 deposit fee, we will send your Form I-20. The completed I-20 must be taken to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your country to obtain an F-1 Student Visa.
Accommodation
LCAD’s Residence Hall is much more than a place to live, it is a place where you will learn, grow, and make a difference. Located at 787 Laguna Canyon Road, the Residence Hall* accommodates 56 students, is 3/4 of a mile from LCAD’s historic Main Campus and is walking distance to downtown Laguna Beach’s shopping, dining, and beachside boardwalk.
Scholarships
All students, international or domestic (US students) are eligible for a merit-based scholarship that is determined during the admission application process. There is no special or separate application for this. Scholarships are guaranteed for 4 years, renewed automatically each year, provided the student maintain a minimum 2.0 term GPA and stay enrolled in at least 9 units. Though as an international student you will have to be enrolled full time (12 units or more per term).
