About the university
Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) is a NASAD-certified college of art and design located in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. As a part of Ferris State University, KCAD is also certified by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. At KCAD, we nurture inquisitive, driven individuals to become skilled makers and problem solvers that balance innovation with artistry to transform their artful curiosity into a marketable skill set – and from there, a dynamic career. KCAD offers 17 undergraduate programs in the fields fine art, design, and art history, that are all paired with real-world learning experiences in West Michigan’s thriving art and design community. As a college within Ferris State University, Kendall College of Art and Design prepares students for leadership in the visual arts, design, art history, and art education; provides innovative, collaborative education that fosters intellectual growth and individual creativity; and promotes the ethical and civic responsibilities of artists and designers, locally and globally.
