Location
The Master of Orofacial Sciences programme bridges the Doctor of Dental Surgery and the three-year Doctoral programme. This one-year programme is a pre-requisite to the Doctoral programme. This combination of one year Master and three years Doctoral programme will be among the qualifications required to enable graduates to be registered as Dental Specialists under the new Malaysian Dental Act 2018. This Master programme provides opportunities for local private practitioners or potential dental lecturers to specialise in an area of interest to them. The common core courses makeup 50% of the programme and includes Applied Medical and Dental Sciences, Research Methodology and Biostatistics, Research Project and General Dentistry. The elective courses currently available are Restorative Dentistry and Periodontology. The elective courses will include simulations and clinical training.
