About the university
Volda University College (HVO) was established August 1, 1994 and had around 3,900 students and 350 employees in 2015. Høgskolen is a state university college in Norway and is a result of two university colleges in Volda being merged as part of the university college form in 1994. The university colleges were merged with Møre og Romsdal District College Volda and Volda Higher Education School. Høgskolen offers professional and professional studies in teacher education, humanities, media subjects and social studies. These can be taken in varying lengths from half-year units to bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and individual doctoral studies, as well as a number of courses, further and further education.
