About the university
Founded in 2010, the Dance Academy in Ljubljana is the first higher education institution of this kind in SE Europe. The Dance Academy offers Bologna first-degree programmes in Modern Dance, Competitive Dance/Ballroom and Latin, Social Dance, and Jazz. Upon graduation, both full- and part-time students obtain the title Bachelor of Dance and Choreography. Regardless of the programme chosen by the student, a general programme is organised for all students. Attempting to fill the lack of dance education possibilities at this level, the Dance Academy aids the students to acquire a wide range of practical and theoretical knowledge from different professional and scientific fields and disciplines (physical training, ballet, acting, music, psychology, pedagogy, physiology, etc.).
