About the university
The MSH Medical School Hamburg is a private, state-recognized university in the Freie und Hansestadt Hamburg based in the modern Hafencity. It was founded in 2009 by the managing director Ilona Renken-Olthoff with the Faculty of Health as a university of applied sciences and started in 2010 with six courses. Since then, our offer of studies at the Faculty of Health has expanded to eleven Bachelor's and five Master's degree programs, which are characterized by a high application profile. In 2013, the Faculty of Humanities was recognized by the state as a university of applied sciences equivalent to a university. All courses at the faculty of human sciences offer a university degree and are strongly scientific-methodological oriented. Thus, students at the MSH can choose between a Fachhochschulstudium or a university degree and plan their career according to their strengths and talents accordingly. The accreditation of the study courses by the AHPGS is particularly important to us and guarantees a high degree of quality and transparency. Our study offer is also characterized by a competency-based approach by allowing individualization through the teaching of compulsory electives. With our innovative, transdisciplinary university concept, we are actively contributing to the process of change in the health care system and offer a high-quality education to the future generations.
