About the university
Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) is the only university of music, drama and dance in the German state of Hesse. It offers training to young instrumentalists and teachers of music, singers, composers and conductors, dancers, directors and actors. 60 professors and 350 teachers teach around 800 students. It is the goal of the HfMDK to train its students to the highest levels of excellence and also to make a contribution to cultural education in general. Networking with cultural life in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main conurbation is a central aspect of the University's profile and, with over two hundred public events each year, it is also an important source of cultural inspiration.
