Characteristics of the degree programme and the majors The 1st cycle studies in the degree programme of Mathematics are aimed at educating the graduate who has a thorough and sufficiently comprehensive mathematical knowledge to be able to continue their education at the 2nd cycle studies or practise the profession of mathematics. In particular, the graduate of Mathematics: has a basic knowledge of mathematics and its applications; has the ability to carry out mathematical reasoning and make complex calculations; can present mathematical content in speech and writing; is able to build, develop and use mathematical models necessary for applications; uses IT tools when solving theoretical and practical mathematical problems; can carry out basic statistical analysis; knows English at the level of B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and has the ability to use a specialist language in the field of the selected major; has the ability to independently deepen mathematical knowledge; is prepared to undertake 2nd cycle studies.
