The Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Econometrics offers I and II cycle programmes of study in Mathematics, Computer Science and Econometrics, engineering and MSc studies in Data Engineering - precursory in Poland, and III-cycle studies in Mathematics. The Faculty has secured a high academic position. As one of 13 institutions in Poland the Faculty is entitled to confer doctoral and postdoctoral degrees in Mathematics. In 2013, by the decision of the Committee for Evaluation of Scientific Units, the Faculty was granted category A, which places it among seven highest-rated scientific units representing mathematical sciences. The Faculty is also among the ten best economic institutions in Poland (http://ideas.repec.org/top/top.poland.html). In recognition of the high standard of education at all cycles and majors the Faculty was given positive institutional assessment by the Polish Accreditation Committee. It must be added that, according to Perspektywy 2016 ranking, Mathematics is one of the leading majors nationwide. Under the ERASMUS+ programme they may also complete part of their studies in foreign universities in Greece, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Turkey and Hungary. The Faculty also hosts lectures in English by visiting professors from foreign partner universities. The Faculty is also the seat of the Centre For Applications of Mathematics and Informatics promoting interdisciplinary cooperation aimed at solving practical problems, based on advanced mathematical methods and with the use of IT technology. The Faculty cooperates with a number of firms operating in the economic environment and the IT industry with regard to student apprenticeships and internships, free training courses for students, completing diploma papers and research work.
