With a few exceptions, university professors from the faculties of Medicine belonging to the departments and areas of knowledge in charge of teaching clinical subjects, are professors linked to the respective regional health institutions, with a unique job. In addition to their teaching obligations, they have attendance obligations, which in turn are essential for providing practical knowledge to the Medicine Undergraduate students. In this context, the doctoral programmes involve the monitoring of the training of the specialist to be, with yearly evaluations by the Academic Committee for each hospital with accredited education, where the tutors of residents for each service participate. In this way, the resident doctors for each clinical specialty, participate as of their first year of training in all the scientific and training activities carried out in the corresponding hospitals such as clinical sessions, meetings and conferences, publications in journals for the respective specialties, etc. It is thus clear that anyone interested in the lines of research for each medical specialty are the respective specialists, both under training as well as those who are already practicing the specialty at a third kevel hospital, speciality university hospitals, for the largest part of the Medical practical training will fall on them.. The Departments of Surgery, Dermatology and Otolaryngology, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Santiago are. Likewise, the hospitals services for each of the medical specialties involved, of the University Hospital of Santiago de Compostela also participate. It is by no means a closed programme; instead it is open to receive new members to the already existing teams and to the creation of new lines of research or to the modification of the existing ones, if it is convenient. Similarly, it is open to the incorporation of other university hospital centres in Galicia. Because it is basically aimed at specialised doctors in training, it must be taken into account the national regulations that must be respected, where the training tasks for each speciality are specified and which will be considered when evaluating the doctoral students.
