You’ll have the opportunity to go on a work placement in your second year, previous students have worked in schools, colleges, charities, law firms, community organisations and commercial businesses. It’s about gaining work-ready skills, and useful contacts to help you get into the world of employment. You may also have the opportunity to study abroad for a term in your second year. In your second and third years you’ll be able to tailor your studies and choose from a range of modules. You could begin to specialise in an area that really interests you. You'll also be eligible for student membership of the British Sociological Association (BSA), which could help you stand out from other candidates when it comes to finding employment.
