In the framework of the 1st cycle studies in the programme: Family Studies, the student gains an in-depth interdisciplinary knowledge about family. This programme of studies is based on the Christian anthropology. The student gains an ordered detailed knowledge in the scope of pedagogical, psychological and sociological determinants of functioning of a family as well as an in-depth knowledge in the area of civil and canonical law in the scope of institutional-legal aspects of family functioning. The student also gains knowledge in the scope of biological human development approaches, sexuality and procreation as well as the skills of applying methods of natural family planning. Due to the fact that studies refer to the Christian views, knowledge about human and family is enhanced by the spiritual-religious dimension. The student obtains the basic knowledge about various types of structures and social institutions (especially those that are related to the functioning of a family) and about links between them. The student has a possibility, subject to completing studies of the first cycle in the programme: Family Studies, to obtain qualifications in the profession of the subject teacher: Family Life Education.
