MCAD’s animation major provides you with a broad historical perspective that fosters an appreciation of animation’s adaptability as an applied and fine art. In this major you are exposed to animation techniques using illustrated, stop-motion, and computer-generated approaches. You develop a personal style through rigorous foundation studies after which you are encouraged to collaborate and expand your individual work. The program equips graduates to move into the world beyond with visual communication skills as well as up-to-date technical proficiencies. From your first compositions and critiques to real-world work experiences, the BFA curriculum is a systematic process that transforms you from an MCAD student into a creative professional.
