Entrepreneurial studies, MCAD's only major within the bachelor of science program, challenges you to make connections between art, science, business, and culture. Students work in professional collaboration with clients on real-world projects—locally, nationally, and globally—with the goal of creating outcomes that are implemented. The program emphasizes a collaborative process and practice working on interdisciplinary teams with students from all MCAD majors. Through awareness of contemporary practice and historical precedents, you will develop a high degree of skill in drawing and painting. You will gain an understanding of the context of your work through courses with specific content, including representation, abstraction, process-based work, and courses that challenge the boundaries between drawing and painting and other artistic practices. By engaging in varied professional practices, you will gain an understanding of how to sustain a career in the field after leaving MCAD. From your first compositions and critiques to real-world work experiences, the BFA curriculum is a systematic process that transforms you from an MCAD student into a creative professional.
