The course comprises eight modules and a 20,000 word dissertation, and is studied either 2 days a week full-time over 12 months or one day a week part-time over 2 years at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester. You will learn via lectures, ‘live scenario’ case studies, site visits (including to London); group assessments, simulated practice exercises, research paper seminars, written reports, valuation computations and technical interactive workshops. Whilst there is no final examinations, you will need to achieve module learning outcomes so that you emerge from this programme as a competent and employable professional. For assessments, you will gather, evaluate and synthesise a balanced range of information to formulate sound advice to a diverse range of private and public-sector clients. A particular characteristic of this degree is the flexibility to enable you to specialise in, for example, International, Residential, Rural, Development, Finance, or Heritage areas. Market analysis, valuation and development appraisal skills are supported by access to leading industry databases and software (CoStar, BCIS, EGi, Argus) and statistical programs (SPSS).
